Move?

Should this be moved to something like Sun (player character)? Sun (game) makes it sound like it's about the game, not the character from the game. The series' tendency to name its main characters the same as its games is a little bit bothersome, at times. Xolroc (talk) 02:24, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

On second thought, never mind. This follows the same pattern as articles like Blue (game) and Gold (game) (the latter a redirect to Ethan (game)).Xolroc (talk) 02:26, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
If I'm remembering correctly, it used to be "game character", but was shortened for simplicity. It is a little confusing, though. Nutter Butter (talk) 02:29, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
I agree that it's a little confusing, but it seems to be the best option we have at the moment. The same-name notice at the top of the article should be sufficient enough to direct visitors to the correct place. --Pokemaster97 02:57, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Kai

Just wanted to point out that "Kai" is also a possible reading of "海" (sea/ocean), such as in "pirate" (海賊 kaizoku) or "sea king" (海王 kaiō). Ratcicle Fan (talk) 14:41, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Age

In the Aether Paradise, it is revealed that the player character is "around 11 years old." Thought I'd mention it first instead of just adding it. Kyurem's Ice Blade 03:33, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

Hometown

Sun is the only player character to not have a hometown, living in a route instead for the fist time in a core series game in the pokémon franchise.--Robin Maximo (talk) 20:25, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

Kai and Lana

If there is internal data in the games that calls the player characters of S/M Kai and Lana, then why on Earth aren't we calling them that? That's what we do for the female PC of FR/LG. We call her Leaf based entirely on the data in the game code. Ericss (talk) 12:10, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Leaf is also one of her optional names in English, while カイ and ラナ are not used anywhere else, and never in English. This has also been discussed here. --Abcboy (talk) 12:30, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Name

I thought his name was Elio. Someone should fix that. C3kids (talk) 21:50, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

It's already noted in the Trivia section. --超龍Chao 02:57, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

USUM Images

Can an autoconfirmed user please add the new USUM art here if that's okay? It's available on the official site. Elbunnies (talk) 13:27, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Move and split

May I please rename the page and split it if that's okay? SaturnMario, his talk and his contributions 23:04, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

For those of us who aren't in the know, can you explain where you've come up with the names "Ray" and "Ailey"? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 00:12, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
They're from here against this. Kai * the Arc Toraph 01:13, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. Is there any evidence to suggest they're new, separate characters rather than just the same old characters using a new set of promotional names? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 01:25, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Official website states that they have changed to new outfits, which implies that they're the same. Besides, it's still premature to make such changes from pre-release information. This isn't any different from Blair/Whitlea, Xavier/Yvonne, Orlando/Anna... --超龍Chao 01:45, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
It actually is different, to be fair. Ray and Ailey are, at the very least, the current officially-used names, the previous promotional names having fallen into disuse, and there isn't even an alternate option for each this time. That is to say, they aren't any less valid than Sun and Moon and happen to be currently in use while the latter names are not. We should also consider the fact that, this time, they were also given specific non-version Japanese names, which didn't happen for Blair/Whitlea (Kuro/Shiro), Xavier/Yvonne (X/Y) or Orlando/Anna (Omega/Alpha). - Taylor (talk) 01:57, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
