Spike Chunsoft (Japanese: スパイク・チュンソフト Spike Chunsoft), formerly Chunsoft (Japanese: チュンソフト Chunsoft), is a Japanese video game developer specializing in console RPGs. It was founded by Koichi Nakamura, a video game designer from Enix. They are the developers of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.

Gameplay formula
In  April 1, 2012, Chunsoft was merged with Spike (company), and the company name is now Spike Chunsoft. It is currently owned by Dwango (company).
The gameplay of most, if not all, of Chunsoft's games involve the following points:
*"Mystery Dungeons" with randomized floors each time one enters.
*Standard attacks, which don't cost anything.
*Special attacks, which cost "power".
*Traps hidden on the ground.

Criticism
Pokémon games
The repetitive nature of the games has led to some criticism. While Chunsoft has, indeed, created several games for many famous franchises (including Final Fantasy's Chocobo's Dungeon), not once has it even slightly changed the points stated above. This leads to several critics saying that the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series is "just another Mystery Dungeon game with Pokémon characters slapped on".

Notable non-Pokémon games
In addition to the Mystery Dungeon series, they have also developed for other series such as Dragon Quest (series) and Sound Novels. It also made the highly critically acclaimed Nintendo DS game Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, its Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita sequel, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, and the Danganronpa series. Its name is taken from Chun, a character that appeared in Enix's very first video game, Door Door.
