Pokémon Card Game Tropical Mega Battle
The Tropical Mega Battle was the first international exchange tournament in the history of the Pokémon TCG. It was held at a hotel in Hawaii, and was attended by elementary school students from Japan and the United States. In the courtyard where the participants gathered, the players who couldn't wait for the start of the tournament voluntarily started trading and battle. "I was surprised and happy that Pokémon cards could overcome the language barrier." (Kouichi Ooyama). "I wanted to have a Pokémon card tournament!! I want it to be serious, and I want to be able to hold a world tournament in the future. It was this event that realized that dream." (Tsunekazu Ishihara) (August 24–27, 1999) (August 26–27, 2000)}}

Trivia
This card was also included in the Pokémon Card Game 25th Anniversary Creatures Deck, a commemorative Half Deck given to Creatures, Inc. illustrators and staff members to celebrate the Pokémon 25th Anniversary and the company's 26th. In this deck, this card represents the year 2000 of the company's history, and the back contains information about the Tropical Mega Battle tournament. This card has a "25th" stamp next to the illustration, and keeps the original set symbol and rarity.
*Prior to the introduction of the Modified Format, this card ran rampant in decks mainly because of the ability to do up to on the second turn provided things went right, combined with its zero Retreat Cost.  When the first Modified Format (Team Rocket on) came into play, this Sneasel was specifically singled out and banned from the format. Later joined by Neo Genesis, it would remain banned from the Modified Format until Neo Genesis was rotated out of the format.

Trivia
* Prior to the introduction of the Modified format, this card ran rampant in decks mainly because of the ability to do an average of and a maximum of 140 damage per turn as early as the second turn provided a deck's setup went smoothly, combined with its zero Retreat Cost and no Weakness. In comparison, the next strongest 2-Energy attack available with minimal drawbacks was Base Set Base Set, which dealt 30 damage or 40 on a coin flip. When the first Modified format (Team Rocket on) came into play in 2001, this Sneasel was specifically singled out and banned from the format. Later joined by Neo Genesis, it would remain banned from the Modified format until the Neo Genesis set was rotated out of the format in the second rotation.
* Undaunted Undaunted is very similar to this card, with an added Fighting Weakness and its Resistance changed from -30 to -20 being the only differences.
