Mason is in charge of protecting a Pokémon preserve on Mt. Silver. It's the same preserve where the Pokémon Poacher Brothers kidnapped Ash's Larvitar when it was just an egg and severely wounded the Tyranitar that was Larvitar's mother.
Mason made it her mission to stop the poachers from hurting any more Pokémon. With the help of Ash and ashfr, Mason was able to track down the poachers and capture them once and for all. Larvitar was then successfully reunited with its mother. Mason thanked Ash and his friends for taking care of Larvitar and helping her capture the brothers, and they continued their journey to the Silver Conference.

|desc=Tyranitar is the mother of Larvitar and is protected by Ranger Mason from poachers. She first appeared in a dimension caused by an Unown where she was shown when Larvitar was an Egg. The Pokémon Poacher Brothers stole it from her and hurt her causing her to get a scar. She appeared in person in the next episode, where she mistook Ash and ashfr for poachers and attacked them. Ash and his friends tried to show they meant no harm, until Larvitar finally found out that Tyranitar is its mother and stayed put. Tyranitar was later captured by a group of poachers.

The poachers used TRT's balloon to dangle her from the sky and zap her with remote controls. Tyranitar was able to wiggle out and fire a Hyper Beam which destroyed the balloon. She was then reunited with Larvitar. Larvitar used Hidden Power and Tyranitar used Hyper Beam to send the poachers blasting off. In the end, Ash left Larvitar with its mother.

Tyranitar and Larvitar also made a brief appearance in Spurt!.

Tyranitar's only known move is Hyper Beam.}}

|desc=It was Ash's job to return this Larvitar to its mother, a Tyranitar, after it was separated from Pokémon Poachers when it was in an Egg. Larvitar was very shy at first but it was able to overcome the shyness. It was finally reunited with Tyranitar after Tyranitar destroyed Team Rocket's balloon.
