Some fans debate the status of this trio, as {{p|Arceus}} is said in [[Sinnoh myths|the mythology of the Sinnoh region]] to have created ''two'' beings from itself, Dialga and Palkia, not mentioning Giratina at all. Nonetheless, Giratina has similarities to both of the other members, much like other members of legendary trios. Each has {{t|Dragon}} as their secondary type, as well as a [[base stat]] total of 680, distributed among the stats as 150-120-120-100-100-90, though in different orders. Many of the moves each learns by leveling up also correspond roughly to those learned by the others.

== Trivia ==
*Dialga, Palkia, and Gritina all have footprints that look like Crowns. Dialga's looks like a King's Crown, Palkia's looks like a Queen's, and Gritina's is smaller than that, possibly a Prince's.
