	The Pokémon Catching Race is a competition to test a {{pkmn\|Trainer}}'s ability to {{pkmn2\|caught\|catch}} {{OBP\|Pokémon\|species}}. At the start of the competition, the participating Trainers are given a special, blue [[Poké Ball]] that they must use to catch the Pokémon. The winner is the one who catches the largest number of Pokémon within a limited period of time. Trainers are not allowed to keep the Pokémon they caught and must {{pkmn2\|released\|release}} them at the end of the competition.
