Pietra
Pietra (Japanese: エリコ Eriko) is the character of the day in Right On, Rhydon. She is voiced by Rachael Lillis in English and 冬馬由美 Yumi Tōma in Japanese.
Pietra wanted to capture a particular Rhydon that new Surf. The reason why was that her grandmother sprained her ankle and she wanted to make it easier for her to get into down by digging a tunnel through a mountain. She was using Template:Type2 Pokémon to try to achieve this. They nearly got through put there is a point that when they start to dig deeper, water begins to drip on them and they get scared and run away. That's why she wanted that Rhydon because it wasn't afraid of water.
Brock offered to help her by trying to get his Onix to dig the rest of the way, but it was afraid of the water just like Pietra's other Pokémon.
Pietra, Ash, and the gang come across Rhydon but it escapes into the lake. Ash uses his Totodile and Misty uses her Water Pokémon to help search for it. Pietra uses her boat to go out on the lake. Soon Totodile discovers Rhydon by accident and bites on its horn, angering it. Pietra tries to battle it but is unsuccessful after it uses Horn Drill in the water and causes a whirlpool.
They travel over to a small island were they see Rhydon coming to shore. Pietra encounters it again but Team Rocket interfere and try to take it for themselves. Ash assists in stopping them and the Rhydon jumps into the lake. Pietra jumps into the lake after it and grabs it. Rhydon carried her under water but she still refused to let go until it battled her. Eventually she gets tired after the Rhydon goes on land again and lets go. She then begs it for a battle. Finally, the Rhydon agrees.
She uses her Marill to battle Rhydon. It used a Water Gun attack first but the Rhydon was unaffected by it. Then Marill attacks it with a series of Water attacks which eventually weakens it. Pietra throws a Poké Ball at it but it escapes from it. Realizing that Water attacks weren't working, Pietra told Marill to use Iron Tail which seemed to do the trick. She threw a Poké Ball again and successfully captured Rhydon.
She then uses her newly captured Rhydon to complete her tunnel.

Trivia
Pietra's Marill has an ear-piercing. It also has a nickname in the Japanese version; マリちゃん Mari-chan
