It is subtitled '''The Night Before''' (Japanese: '''前夜''' ''The Eve'') in the Shogakukan Asia translation.
The round starts in on an evening in [[Nuvema Town]], with [[Professor Juniper]] on a phone call. As Professor Juniper is about to have dinner, she goes to put back the [[starter Pokémon]] into their [[Poké Ball]]s in order to be given to their {{pkmn|trainer}}s the next day. Professor Juniper receives a phone call from [[Fennel]] and leaves the starters unattended. Tepig smells the dinner that Professor Juniper had prepared and attempts to eat it.  


As {{p|Tepig}} jumps onto the table, he knocks over the table and drops Professor Juniper's dinner. Once Tepig starts to eat Professor Juniper's dinner, its eating angers {{p|Snivy}}. As Snivy and Tepig start to attack each other, {{p|Oshawott}} attempts to calm them down. Both Snivy and Tepig smash Oshawott onto a wall, Oshawott starts to attack the other Pokémon. As Oshawott starts attacking with its scalchop, it knocks over several items. During Professor Juniper's call with [[Fennel]], Fennel informs Professor Juniper about her discovery on [[Dream Mist]]. As Oshawott knocks over a pitcher of water, Professor Juniper returns to find the mess the starter Pokémon had created. Professor Juniper worries about the situation with the starter Pokémon and if they are able to form a friendship with their future trainers.

Professor Juniper is seen talking to someone on the phone about her plan to entrust three Pokémon to three upcoming Trainers the next day. Before she goes to eat dinner, Professor Juniper decides to put her first partner Pokémon, Snivy, Oshawott, and Tepig into their Poké Balls.

Before she can, Professor Juniper is interrupted by a phone call from her friend Fennel. Tepig notices some food on Professor Juniper's desk and burns one of the Berries to eat it.
