Black & White TCG Series merchandise: Difference between revisions

To start off the Black & White Series for the English trading card game is the release of the '''Sneak-Peek Tins'''. Released on March 9th, 2011, these tins introduce the first [[Generation V]] Pokémon to the TCG. Each tin features one of the three starters—{{p|Snivy}}, {{p|Tepig}}, and {{p|Oshawott}}—in the form of both a promotional card and a figure, as well as a preview pack of five other Generation V Pokémon. The three cards featured in the tin feature new artwork than when released in Japan in the {{TCG|Journey Partners}} collection. Each tin also contains four booster packs from the {{TCG|Platinum}} Series, {{TCG|HeartGold & SoulSilver}} Series, and {{TCG|Call of Legends}}.

{{TCG|Theme Deck}}s are an integral part of the trading card game, being released with just about every one of the main expansions. Furthering the release of the [[Generation V]] Pokémon, the three theme decks for the {{TCG|Black & White}} expansion feature the final evolutions for [[Unova]]'s starter Pokémon: {{p|Serperior}}, {{p|Emboar}}, and {{p|Samurott}}. The {{TCG|Green Tornado}}, {{TCG|Red Frenzy}}, and {{TCG|Blue Assault}} theme decks were released on April 6th, 2011: roughly three weeks before the main expansion. The release of {{TCG|Black & White}} brought the addition of both Three Pack Blisters and Two Pack Blisters. Released April 25th, 2011, the Three Pack Blisters came in three varieties: each one featuring one of the three [[Unova]] starters as a promotional card, three {{TCG|Black & White}} booster packs, a Black & White preview pack containing three Common cards from the set, and a coin featuring the starters. The Two Pack Blisters contain one Black & White booster pack, one preview pack, and one of four promotional cards. In order to teach beginning players how to play the [[Pokémon Trading Card Game]], Trainer Kits with two preconstructed {{TCG|half deck}}s are released. The Black & White Series brings the '''Black & White Trainer Kit'''. This kit was originally due for release August 3rd, 2011, but was held back for unknown reasons. The Black & White Trainer Kit features {{p|Zoroark}} and {{p|Excadrill}} as holographic cards with artwork exclusive to the Trainer Kit. As with almost every expansion, the {{TCG|Emerging Powers}} expansion features two theme decks, which are named {{TCG|Toxic Tricks}} and {{TCG|Power Play}}. Released on November 15th, 2011, the Prime Challenge Boxes feature reprints of older cards from the HeartGold & SoulSilver series with particular focus on popular {{TCG|Pokémon Prime}} cards at the time. Released September 18th, 2012, was the '''Emerging Challenges Box''', a box that seemingly repackaged older material in order to make room for newer merchandise. Much like the {{merch|Black & White|Evolved Starter Boxes}}, the Emerging Challenges Box contained 1 {{TCG|Theme Deck}} and 2 booster packs, as well as exclusive promotional cards. Differing from the previous boxes, however, the Emerging Challenges Box contained 3 Holofoil cards instead of 1 Holofoil card and a figure. One of the four Theme Decks from the {{TCG|Emerging Powers}} and {{TCG|Noble Victories}} expansions—{{TCG|Power Play}}, {{TCG|Toxic Tricks}}, {{TCG|Fast Daze}}, or {{TCG|Furious Knights}}—was available in the box, as well as 1 booster pack from {{TCG|Black & White}}, and another from either Emerging Powers or Noble Victories. The promotional cards included were a Mirror Reverse Holofoil {{TCG|Stoutland}} evolutionary line. The {{p|Herdier}} and {{p|Stoutland}} were from the {{TCG|Black & White}} expansion, while the {{p|Lillipup}} was one of the {{TCG|BW Black Star Promos}}: BW52.

Along with the Emerging Challenges Box, the '''Black & White Variety Blisters''' were also released in stores September 18th. In order to promote the mini set releasing October 5th, various Blister Packs will be released to promote {{TCG|Dragon Vault}}, a 20 card mini expansion containing all Holofoil cards. During the month of October 2012, specifically on October 8th, a promotional box named the '''Keldeo Box''' was released. This product features the newly released Colt Pokémon, {{p|Keldeo}}, as both a new promotional card, Jumbo card, and figure of Keldeo's [[Form differences#Keldeo|Resolution Forme]]. The Keldeo Box included these three promotional items, as well as three booster packs from the Black & White Series expansions of the Pokémon Trading Card Game—specifically, 2 from {{TCG|Dragons Exalted}} and 1 from {{TCG|Noble Victories}}.
