The BW Era merchandise encompasses everything released in between when the Era started in September 2010 and when the XY Era began in November 2013. In order to release special promotional cards and merchandise and to promote the card game, special promotional materials such as Blister Packs, Boxes, and Decks are distributed to the fans of the Japanese card game. The following is a list of the merchandise released during the BW Era of the Trading Card Game.  
The Japanese BW Era of the [[Pokémon Trading Card Game]] began in September 2010 with the release of the {{TCG|Journey Partners}} collection alongside [[Generation V|fifth generation]] games {{game|Black and White|s}}. A wide variety of products became available to purchase, promoting new Pokémon native to the [[Unova]] region as well as new mechanics in the game itself. All participants of the 2012 Victory Cup received promotional {{TCG ID|BW-P Promo|Tympole|191}} and {{TCG ID|BW-P Promo|Landorus|192}} cards, while those reaching the Premier Stage earned a promotional {{TCG ID|BW-P|Team Plasma Badge|Promo}} card. The top 3 players at the end of the Climax Stage were each given a {{TCG ID|BW-P|Victory Cup|Promo}} promotional card mounted in an acrylic trophy stand, with varying designs based on their overall position. The overall winner from each venue would earn the right to play in the 2012 Victory Cup Best in Japan Battle in their age division, held on the second day of the Tokyo event. The Tokyo event also held the 2012 Victory Cup Last Challenge Qualifier on the second day as a final opportunity for players to enter the Best in Japan Battle. All participants of this event were also given Tympole and Landorus promotional cards.

Promotional Gym Challenge packs were given to hosts and the top 3 players of each tournament. Several events that catered for beginners were also held at each venue and offered prizes to participants: those who took part in the Beginner's Classroom were given a Battle Record Book; those taking part in the How to Make a Deck Classroom were given a Deck Advance Sheet; and those taking part in the WAKUWAKU Team Battle were each given a promotional Gym Challenge pack. Sheets given to those taking part in matches had a box that opponents could tick if they felt a player had good manners during play. Attendants would regularly check these and give out stickers featuring Black Kyurem and White Kyurem to players deemed to have had good manners by their opponents.

The fourth and final Battle Carnival was the last major domestic event to be held during the BW Era, and was held in four locations across Japan: at the Fukuoka International Congress Center, Fukuoka on May 4, 2013; at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on May 12, 2013; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on May 18 and 19, 2013; and at Intex Osaka, Osaka on May 26, 2013. Each venue held one main competitive tournament plus a number of smaller side events, ranging from beginner classrooms through to mini tournaments.
The main event at each venue was the World Challenge Tournament, in which players vied for a place to represent their country in the upcoming [[2013 World Championships]] held in {{wp|Vancouver}}, {{wp|British Columbia}}, {{pmin|Canada}}. There were two divisions for people to enter at all venues: the A League, open to those born after 2002, and the B League, open to those born before 2001. The Chiba event had two more divisions: the U League, open to those under 19 years of age (born on or after May 19, 1993), and the O League, open to all ages. The A, B, and U Leagues all used an equivalent of the {{TCG|Standard format}} (BW-on), whereas the O League used an equivalent of the {{TCG|Expanded format}} (DP-on). All participants were awarded a promotional {{TCG ID|BW-P Promo|Mew|220}} card regardless of their progress in the tournament. All players began at the 'Challenge Stage' and could advance to the 'Premier Stage' by achieving 4 consecutive match wins. Players reaching the 'Premier Stage' were also awarded a promotional print of {{TCG ID|BW-P|Silver Mirror|Promo}}. While not included as eligible PokéCard Point events, participants of the Beginner's Classroom and How to Make a Deck Classroom were respectively given Battle Record Books and Deck Advance Sheets.
