Mr. Mime has a round, white body with a red spot in the middle. Its light-pink arms and legs are connected to its body by red spheres. Mr. Mime has white, five-fingered hands and black feet that curl upward at the end. Mr. Mime has a pink head with red cheeks and blue, frizzy hair.

Mr. Mime is able to bring invisible barriers that it mimes into existence.

Mr. Mime are very prideful of their pantomime acts. Anyone that dares to interrupt a Mr. Mime while it is miming will get slapped silly.

Mr. Mime are usually very rare, however, they seem to congregate in suburban areas.

Mr. Mime first appeared in ''[[EP064|It's Mr. Mime Time]]''. {{Ash}} and [[Ash's friends|co.]] were looking for a Mr. Mime to replace another one that was supposed to perform in a circus. Ash originally dressed as one to encourage the old Mr. Mime, soon confusing [[Delia Ketchum|his mother]] when a [[Mimey|wild Mr. Mime]] arrived at her house.

In ''[[EP090|Stage Fight]]'', a Mr. Mime was part of a showboat stage show along with other Pokémon.

Mr. Mime also appears in ''[[AG141|Hail to the Chef]]'' under the ownership of {{Ka|Rhonda}}, a girl who lives outside [[Saffron City]] who was competing with her sister for the ownership of her father's restaurant.

Mr. Mime was first seen under the control of [[Sabrina]] in [[Pokémon Special]], generating a {{M|Light Screen}} to seal off the whole of [[Saffron City]].

The same Mr. Mime was seen again during the [[Gym Leader]] faceoff, using its miming powers to trap [[Bugsy]] and defeat his {{p|Heracross}}.

* Although its English and French names suggest that it is exclusively male, female Mr. Mime are just as common as males, and in {{game|Gold and Silver|s}}, [[Sabrina]] herself has a female Mr. Mime as one of her Pokémon.

* The Mr. Mime obtained through an in-game trade in {{game|Red and Blue|s}} was nicknamed Marcel. This is possibly an homage to the late {{wp|Marcel Marceau}}. However, this was not kept in {{game|FireRed and LeafGreen|s}}; the same Mr. Mime is nicknamed Mimien.

* Mr. Mime originally had four fingers on its hands, but in [[Generation III]] it was given an extra finger.

Mr. Mime was probably inspired by ''{{wp|Marcel Marceau|le Mime Marceau}}'' the most famous French mime in the world.   

Mr. Mime's name simply refers to {{wp|mime}}s. Its Japanese name may be a combination of ''barrier'' and ''weird'' - indicating its ability to erect invisible walls - or ''barrier'' and ''barricade''. Its German name comes from the word ''pantomime''.  Mr. Mime's French name is M. Mime (M. which is the official abbreviation of ''Monsieur'').
