'''[[Pokémon World]]''' is a fully independent, unofficial, UK-based, four-weekly magazine that gives out information about new games, mostly upcoming [[Pokémon]] ones. It also has sections showing debates from certain forums over different subjects dealing with [[Pokémon]]. In addition, there are sections for fanart, letters asking questions about the [[Pokémon games]], pullout posters of [[Pokémon]] and characters, and fan-fiction.
It was first published in 2000 by {{wp|Paragon Publishing}}, retailing at £2.50 per issue. It changed its name from ''Pokémon World'' to ''Pocket World'' with issue 125 at the start of 2011, at which point it was published by {{wp|Imagine Publishing}}. It was known for the range of popular monster-themed franchises covered and the diversity of free gifts, such as sweets, games, trading cards and cheat books, often branded with the magazine's logo.


They have recently added a [[Pokémon]] challenge section in which people with a [[Pokémon]] game can [[battle]] a Pokémon World employee over [[Wi-F]] with the results printed in the magazine the next month, moved from another unofficial UK [[Nintendo]] magazine after it closed down<!--I can't remember which, it's either NGC, CUBE or NGamer-->.
It had a relationship with the owner of [[Serebii.net]] who sometimes wrote Pokémon game tips and hints for the magazine.


As of April 2011 there are 115 issues, as well as various mooks containing collections of puzzles or [[Pokédex]] information previously published. The magazine is also known for being expensive, for being roughly the size of a weekly magazine but yet being priced currently at £4, like larger, monthly magazines.
The magazine finished with issue 174, released on the 8th of October 2015. Issues 161 to 174 of Pocket World can still be accessed in digital form with a subscription to Readly<ref>https://gb.readly.com/magazines/pocket-world</ref>.


Each issue of the magazine usually comes with at least two free gifts, for example calendars, sweets and stationary sets.

A lot of indepth information in the magazine about the games usually comes from [[Serebii.net]], whom they have an affiliation with the webmaster of. They have also been known to copy information from [[Bulbapedia]]. It is known to spell the names of [[Pokémon]] wrong occasionally and sometimes give misleading information, such as leading up to the release of [[Pokémon Emerald]], it stated the player would be able to buy and change clothing in-game, when really the protagonists were just given new, green-colored clothing. Due to the time taken to prepare and publish the magazine, sometimes the information contained in it can be up to a month out of date, for example giving wrong dates for events, or only announcing them after they had already finished. Issue 114 announces both that [[Pokémon Black and White]] branded DSis have no news of a European release, and at the same time advertises their European release.

The magazine regularly previewed and reviewed the newest video games on the market, publishing first glimpses of Japanese releases of Pokémon titles in the years before concurrent worldwide releases.


It was released in the United States in April 2010 at Borders locations.  
As of February 2014 they had begun a regular "Pokémon League of the Month" feature, which showcased the best [[Pokémon League]] in the country, along with pictures from that league. They also often ran Pokémon features, such as "Top Ten [[Kalos]] Pokémon" or "Six Reasons Why I Love {{p|Snivy}}", as well as extended tips sections for major Pokémon games like [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity]] or [[Pokémon X and Y]].

Early editions of the magazine featured a variety of different recognisable Pokémon characters on the cover, alongside smaller images of other features inside. Later editions of Pocket World tended to only feature {{p|Pikachu}} as the most well-known brand mascot.
[[Pokemon]] World is not a very populer magazine, in 2009 it claimed itnwas the UK's no.1 video games magazine, soon it came down as one of the worst videio games magazines.  
 
In 2010 many retailers stopped stocking pokemon world, so the magazine made a price cut, it is also not recomended by nintendo or game freak or any third party. It also steals articles from other magazines and modifys them, into their' own style of text. Sometimes the magazine will include rumours and made up interveiws formed  from information of the making of the games, particuly Pokemon Black And White. It is also has a deal with Serebii to host the site's pictures in the magazine in return for advertising serebii's site.  
Their website was updated daily with news about Pokémon and other key featured brands.

Pocket World, originally launched as Pokémon World, was a monthly magazine published in the United Kingdom. It featured content related to the Pokémon video games, trading cards, TV shows and movies, as well as news on other monster toy brands like Digimon, Beyblade, Skylanders, Moshi Monsters, Bakugan and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

It was first published in 2000 by Paragon Publishing, retailing at £2.50 per issue. It changed its name from Pokémon World to Pocket World with issue 125 at the start of 2011, at which point it was published by Imagine Publishing.
