Marshtomp (Japanese: ヌマクロー Numacraw) is a -type Pokémon.

}}
Marshtomp (Japanese: ヌマクロー Numacraw) is a dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves from Mudkip starting at level 16 and evolves into Swampert starting at level 36.

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Marshtomp is an amphibious, bipedal Pokémon. Its body is primarily light blue with a lighter shade of blue for its underside and an orange belly. Marshtomp's head has an angular black fin, orange eyes, and orange gills on the ends of both cheeks. It has long arms with three-fingered hands. Its feet have three small toes, and it has two black fins for tails.
Gender differences
None.

Special abilities
This Pokémon has a thin, sticky film enveloping its body that enables it to live on land. This development came from living on muddy ground where there is poor footing. Despite this, Marshtomp is at its best when in this environment. Its body weakens if its skin dries out, so it plays in the mud on beaches when the tide is low to replenish fluids. It is capable of moving faster through mud than water. With its sturdy legs, it has a good footing in mud that allows it to overwhelm struggling opponents. Marshtomp lives in List of Pokémon by habitat.
Behavior
Habitat
Marshtomp and members of its evolution family probably live in swamps or other wetlands.

Diet
In Generation III, Muddy Water was its signature move.

Evolution
Marshtomp evolves from Mudkip and evolves into Swampert.

Prior to Zig Zag Zangoose, Nicolai's Mudkip evolved into Marshtomp.

Brock's Mudkip evolved into a Brock in A Chip Off the Old Brock. The Mud Fish Pokémon accidentally injured a Flaaffy. After the Flaaffy was healed, Marshtomp became infatuated with the pink electrical sheep.

Ruby's Mudkip, nicknamed Mumu, evolved upon his arrival at Slateport City in Tripped Up by Torkoal, which Ruby was happy to record a video of. Afterwards, he was used in a battle with Magma Admin Blaise as Ruby escaped the villain using his knowledge of Pokéblocks and Natures that determine preference. After again being forced to battle with yet another Magma Admin, this time in the form of Courtney, he became a Swampert, though this time Ruby was too depressed after his fight with Sapphire to commemorate this occasion.

Trivia
Gotta Meme 'em All: Mudkip and Marshtomp, here in the track
* Marshtomp is the only middle evolved form of a Water first partner Pokémon with two types.
* Marshtomp and its evolved form Swampert are the only first partner Pokémon to have a 4× weakness against another first partner Pokémon type (Grass).

Evolution
Origin
{| border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="margin: auto;"
Marshtomp is based on the Necturus or mudskipper. It may also be based on the axolotl or Gilled lungfish, like its Mudkip. The single fin on Marshtomp's head is reminiscent of the Murmillo worn by murmillo-class Gladiator or the Corinthian helmet (with a horsehair crest), which was worn by Greek Hoplites with "murmillo" being the Greek word for a type of saltwater fish.

Trivia
Numacraw may be a combination of numa (swamp) and crawfish (crayfish, a freshwater crustacean), crawl, or claw.
*Marshtomp is the only second evolved form water starter with two types.
Origin
This Pokémon is based on the mudpuppy.
Name origin
Marshtomp draws its name from a combination of marsh and stomp. The numa in Numacraw is probably 沼, swamp, and craw is the same as claw, since Japanese uses the same characters for both "l" and "r".
