Cradily (Japanese: ユレイドル Yuradle) is a dual-type Fossil Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

Biology
Physiology
Cradily is a green, plantlike Pokémon based on a Crinoid with various yellow markings on its head, neck, and torso. There are circular, yellow eyespots on its head. However, its true eyes are concealed inside the dark, crescent opening on its head. Surrounding its head at the base are eight pink tentacles, which somewhat resemble flower petals. Its long, flexible neck has yellow bands in the center, and it can be extended to assist in capturing prey. Its body is short and squat with four stubby growths and a yellow, oval, target-like pattern on the chest.
Cradily is a mostly green Pokémon that seems to resemble a plant, with various yellow markings on its head, neck, and torso. There is a section of black on the front of its head, which covers its yellow eyes like a mask. It also has eight pink tentacles that surround its neck at the base of its head. Its body is short and squat, with four stubby leg-like growths. Cradily is an ancient Pokémon no longer found in the wild, and must be evolved from a Lileep resurrected from a Root Fossil.

Gender differences
Cradily's heavy body acts as an anchor, preventing it from getting washed away by rough ocean currents. In ancient times, it List of Pokémon by habitat. When the tide went out, it came up on land to search for prey. However, Cradily cannot move very fast due to its short legs. Instead, Cradily can extend its neck and tentacles by three times its usual length. It then uses its tentacles to capture them and melts them with strong digestive acidic fluid secreted by the tentacles.
None.

Special abilities
Evolution
Cradily's strength is far greater than that of its pre-evolution. Before its extinction, it was able to roam the seafloor in search of its prey, and upon finding it, Cradily used its massive tentacles to grip and then eat its prey. Its tentacles secrete corrosive acid that it uses to melt its prey.
Cradily evolves from Lileep.

Behavior
(For specifics on this Pokémon's evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)
In ancient times, Cradily moved around the seafloor with stealth in search of its prey. It was a powerful hunter, and was very vicious to its prey while preparing to eat it. It made its nests in shallow waters of the warm seas.

Habitat
|type2=Grass
Before its extinction, Cradily inhabited environments adjacent to bodies of water, such as seas or oceans, particularly in warm areas. Its personal nest was often made in the shoals of the sea. It was a common sight on beaches when the tides receded.

* Cradily's Shiny colors resemble its Lileep.
* Despite being the Barnacle Pokémon, and being confirmed to live in water, Cradily is not a Water Pokémon. It shares this trait with its pre-evolution Lileep, and its fossil counterparts Anorith and Armaldo.
** All four of them can also walk on water in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, despite not being Water-type.
* Despite being the two types with the most weaknesses, Grass and Rock, it has only four weaknesses.
* Cradily is the only Pokémon with Pokéathlon stats where each one is a different level.
* Cradily is the only Pokémon with Pokéathlon stats where each one is a different level.
* Cradily and its pre-evolved form, Lileep, are the only:
** Grass Pokémon that belong in the Water 3.
** Rock List of Pokémon by shape.
* Prior to Generation VIII, the Lileep family had only been obtainable with their Hidden Ability in the Pokémon Dream World. Due to the closure of the Pokémon Global Link, the Lileep family could no longer be obtained with their Hidden Ability except through breeding. The Lileep family's Hidden Ability can currently be obtained via Max Raid Battles or the Ability Patch.

On the Origin of Species: Lileep and Cradily
On the Origin of Species: Lileep and Cradily
It may be based on crinoids, or sea lilies, marine animals related to seastars which were once believed to be extinct.
Cradily may be based on crinoids (also known as sea lilies), extant marine animals. Crinoid fossils are particularly abundant, possibly inspiring Cradily's status as a fossil Pokémon. Its tentacles may be based on those of the sea anemone. It also bears resemblance to the predatory tunicate. Cradily's Eyespot (mimicry) are a type of animal mimicry.
