Lugia (M02): Difference between revisions

In ''[[M02|The Power of One]]'', [[Lawrence III]] wanted to capture Lugia and add it to his {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} collection. In order to accomplish this goal, he set out to enrage and capture the three {{OBP|Legendary birds|M02}}, {{p|Articuno}}, {{p|Zapdos}}, and {{p|Moltres}}. It was prophesied that, once the three birds were enraged, {{p|Lugia}}, the Legendary {{pkmn|category|Diving Pokémon}}, would appear to calm them down. Once Lugia appeared, Lawrence III tried to subdue and capture it.

Lugia was briefly mentioned in ''[[EP220|The Mystery is History]]'' by Ash and [[James]], when they encountered {{jo|Silver}} for the first time.

Lugia is a very serious {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} with immense power. Even with all three {{OBP|Legendary birds|M02}} attacking it at once, Lugia was able to employ very skilled moves in defending itself against them. Lugia is intelligent and clear-minded, keenly aware of its role in the legend surrounding the islands and also of its inability to quell the Legendary birds by itself.

Lugia appeared in {{ma|Mirage Pokémon Lugia's Explosive Birth}} where it played the same role as it did in the [[M02|movie]].

===In the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga===

Lugia was mentioned by {{OBP|Professor Oak|Pocket Monsters}} in ''[[PM058|Get Lugia!]]'' where he had {{OBP|Red|Pocket Monsters}}, {{OBP|Green|Pocket Monsters}}, and {{OBP|Blue|Pocket Monsters}} go on the islands to retrieve the orbs from the [[Legendary birds]]. However, the orbs broke and {{TP|Red|Clefairy}} disguised himself as a {{p|Lugia}}.
