Mandarin Island South is home to many big cities and a large stadium, but much of the island is desert.
In The Mandarin Island Miss Match, Ash and ashfr met Prima of the Elite Four. She trains here during the off-season and has a home just outside a large city. Once a week, she gives lectures and demonstrates Pokémon battling techniques. Prima gave Ash a lesson in humility after noticing that he was becoming overconfident and not listening to his Pokémon.

In the anime, it is where Prima of the Elite Four trains during the off-season. Once a week, she gives lectures and demonstrates Pokémon battling techniques. This suggests a parallel between the Sevii Islands in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and the Orange Archipelago, as the in-game information says that Lorelei is from Floe Island.
In Wherefore Art Thou, Pokémon?, the group helped Yambera quarrelling neighbors Ralph and Emily for the sake of their Nidoran, who had fallen in love.

There is another city in Mandarin Island that is home to Ralph and Emily. It is a large, old fashion city with many 1800 looking buildings.  Then, across a large desert, is another town with a Pokémon Center. Also in this town is an Officer Jenny. Next to the Pokémon Center in this town is a path that leads to Trovitopolis, a very large city.
The group met electricity supplier Ethan in Get Along, Little Pokémon, who agreed to give them a lift in exchange for their help. He carts throughout the deserts of Mandarin Island South to deliver electricity to isolated towns and cities. The harsh landscape is prone to lightning storms, though Ethan uses the electricity to charge up his team of Magnemite.

Places of Interest
In The Mystery Menace, Ash and his friends arrived in the large port city of Trovitopolis. A mystery creature, which was later discovered to be a giant Bulbasaur discarded by the Mayor of Trovitopolis was accused of endangering the public. Ash and his friends traversed the city's extensive sewers and saved the Bulbasaur from the Mayor’s plans to destroy it.

Prima's House
Pokémon seen on Mandarin Island South
Prima's house is located on the edge of town, looking out above the ocean. It is a large house, almost like a mansion. On the side of her house, after heading down the stairs of the back porch, is a large, fenced in Pokémon Stadium. Here, Prima battles opponents who come to her house to challenge her.

Located in the old fashion town, it is a little park where Nidoran♀ and Nidoran♂ were always running off to. It seems to be a quiet place with lots of flowers and berries in the trees. It has a twisted sculpture in the middle of it. In the back is a large flower garden with tons of flowers inside.

This Pokémon Center is located in the old fashion town. It is a very huge building that looks like an old fashion apartment building. It has a sign that says "Pokémon" in front, and a large "P" over the door. Inside, the staying rooms are like apartments, with a desk, paper, lights, and other things. It is most likely run by a Nurse Joy.

The one in Trovitopolis looks like a large round dome with a "P" over the door.  Despite the city being large, it is a small Pokémon Center that has a front desk, telephone area, and a spot for healing Pokémon.

City of Trovitopolis
Trovitopolis
A very large city with large building everywhere. To get there, one follows a path that starts in the old town in the desert. The city has a very complex sewer system. This town also has an Officer Jenny. It's big enough to have its own pizza delivery store, and a hot dog vendor in a park. This town also has a Pokémon Center run by a Nurse Joy. At the pier, there is a ferry that goes to Trovita Island that takes only a few minutes to get there.

Trovitopolis Police Station
A very large police station in Trovitopolis. It looks like a large apartment building with a police officer's cap in the middle. In one of the wings is a row of jail cells where anyone who does bad deeds goes.

Trivia
Trivia
* The island doesn't appear to have much in common with Mandarin Island North. It is believed that naming both islands the same name was a dubbing error, as the Japanese names are different for both.
