Goh's Cubone (Japanese: ゴウカラカラ Go's Karakara) is the twenty-eight Pokémon that Goh caught.
In the anime
In A Snow Day for Searching!, Goh encountered Cubone while visiting his family. It was surrounded by a group of Mankey, although Scorbunny gets involved in the battle, his bone is stolen by the Pokémon group. Sad at the loss of the item, Goh tries to console him, and soon after that Goh decides to use his Pokémon to find the missing bone.
After meeting the Mankey again and seeing that they also lost the bone, another search begins, where Goh's Buttefree finds a Fearow who knew the location of the lost item. Towards the end of the day, Cubone, Goh and Ash find him at the bottom of a lake, but thanks to Go's Dewgong he is finally found.
Goh was able to reunite Cubone with its bone, when it meets Go’s parents Cubone subsequently allowed itself to be caught by Go. At Go's house, Cubone is seen on the lap of his Trainer and having fun with the other Pokémon in the apartment.
In Panic in the Park!, it is revealed that Cubone befriended Goh's Skwovet. It and Skwovet called Golurk to stop the other Pokémon from fighting during a food shortage. When Golurk's seal fell off and it went berserk, Cubone helped put the seal back on. It then helped protect the Cascoon from the flood caused by Golurk's rampage, allowing them to evolve into Dustox.
In JN107, Goh used Cubone along with other Pokémon to create a fountain so that Grimer and Froakie could live in Cerise Laboratory without dirtying the stream where some of the Pokémon live.
Personality and characteristics
Cubone is shown to become very upset when it loses its bone, as seen in A Snow Day for Searching! when it was taken by a group of Mankey. This caused it to cry out loud and only calmed down once its bone was retrieved. This caused Cubone to be thankful, as seen when it asked to join Goh's team after he helped retrieve it.
Cubone is often seen next to Goh's Darmanitan, whether interacting with him or following his training with Goh's Heracross.
In the games
Pokémon GO
In an event based on Pokémon Journeys: The Series from November 6 to November 12, 2020, in Pokémon GO, several Pokémon based on Goh's catches appeared in the wild, including Cubone. It specifically appears during a Photo Boomb represented by the image of Goh.[1]
