Channeler (Trainer class): Difference between revisions

A '''Channeler''' (Japanese: '''きとうし''' ''Shaman'') is a type of [[Pokémon Trainer]] that have only appeared in the [[Generation I]] games and {{game3|FireRed and LeafGreen|their remakes|s}}. They are generally depicted as {{wp|Shinto}} priestesses. They scared out people from [[Pokémon Tower]] and were possibly unwittingly helping [[Team Rocket]] make their base in the tower. Their strange behavior when challenging the {{player}} and their subsequent reaction after being defeated seems to imply that they were possessed by the ghosts they used while [[Pokémon battle|battling]]. In fact, some Channelers apologize after battle, saying "I was possessed!" when spoken to.

In {{eng|Pokémon Stadium}} they are known as '''Mediums''', which may lead to a confusion with {{tc|Medium|a similar Trainer class}}. They wear white robes and carry {{wp|Gohei}} to help channel spirits.
