Nakano is a member of DigitalImage, a part-time digital design lecturer at the Niigata College of Art & Design, and a part-time illustration lecturer at the Tokyo Designer Gakuin College. His work primarily features on covers and in articles of computing and car magazines. Subjects are often exaggerated versions of their normal counterparts, with vehicles such as cars and aircraft created to make them appear more futuristic, and anthropomorphized animals with proportionally larger body parts. Among his interests, he often delves into the realms of science fiction and animation for his work, with images including various types of mecha or assorted creatures. Many of his images are illuminated with an intense light and textured with a highly reflective surface. Nakano regularly participates in producing exhibition work, and has also branched into producing some of his work into jewelry, as well as creating traditional Japanese illustrations for smart phone cases and music players.
