This card was included as a Regular card, an {{TCG|ultra rare}} card, a {{TCG|special illustration rare}} card, and a gold etched {{TCG|hyper rare}} card in the {{TCG|Obsidian Flames}} expansion, first released in the Japanese {{TCG|Ruler of the Black Flame}} expansion. The Regular, ultra rare, and hyper rare prints feature artwork by [[5ban Graphics]], while the special illustration rare print is illustrated by [[AKIRA EGAWA]]. An {{TCG|SVP Black Star Promos|SVP Promotional}} print numbered 056 with new artwork by [[takuyoa]] was included in the {{TCGMerch|Scarlet & Violet|Series|Charizard ex Premium Collection}}, released on October 20, 2023.

An {{TCG|Jumbo card|oversized}} version of the Obsidian Flames Regular print bearing the expansion logo on the left side of the artwork as given away with eligible [[Pokémon Trading Card Game]] purchases in various countries. The Shiny Treasure ex ultra rare print of the card was released in English as an {{TCG|SVP Black Star Promos|SVP Black Star Promo}} numbered 074 in the {{TCGMerch|Scarlet & Violet|Series|Paldean Fates Tins}}, released on February 9, 2024. Both the Regular print and the new special illustration rare print were included in the {{TCG|Paldean Fates}} expansion.
