Dipplin (Japanese: カミッチュ Kamicchu) is a dual-type Grass/Dragon Pokémon introduced in Generation IX, with The Teal Mask.
It evolves from Applin when exposed to a Syrupy Apple. It is one of Applin's final forms, the others being Flapple and Appletun.
Biology
Dipplin is a worm-like Pokémon who lives inside an apple, and is similar in appearance to its pre-evolution, Applin in contrast to its other evolutions. Unlike Applin, however, Dipplin appears to comprise a pair of separate bodies; the head and tail visible outside of Dipplin's apple appear to belong to two different creatures.[1] Both of Dipplin's bodies are light green, with a yellow-green underside. The main head of Dipplin has two large yellow leaf-like eyestalks containing two small black eyes, and a tall, thin protrusion similar to a horn or an antenna. The tail that sticks out from Dipplin's rear has two leaf-like features on it.
The pair that composes Dipplin works together inside their shared apple. They are capable of producing syrup, which they use to coat their apple in layers. This syrup has a fragrant scent that captivates Dipplin's opponents. They can use the syrup to engulf their opponent and hinder them.[1]
Evolution
Dipplin evolves from Applin.

Trivia
- As Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing were exclusive to Pokémon Sword and Shield, Dipplin is the only evolution of Applin that does not have a Gigantamax form.
- Despite it not being known to evolve into any Pokémon, the Eviolite works when held by Dipplin.
Origin
Dipplin, like its evolutionary relatives, appears to be based on the popular image of a worm burrowing into an apple, as well as a pun on the wyrm, a type of dragon — hence its Dragon typing. Dipplin also appears to be based on a candy apple, which is made by coating apples with a sugar mixture, and is often served at festivals and holidays.
Dipplin's Shiny form seems to draw inspiration from the similar treat of caramel apples.
Name origin
Dipplin may be a combination of di- (prefix meaning double), dip, and Applin.
Kamicchu may be a combination of 果 ka (fruit), 花蜜 kamitsu (nectar), 虫 chū (bug; worm), and カジッチュ Kajicchu (Applin).
