Anorith (Japanese: アノプス Anopth) is a dual-type Rock/Bug Fossil Pokémon.
It is resurrected from a Claw Fossil and evolves into Armaldo starting at level 40.
Biology
Physiology
Anorith is an aquatic, arthropod-like, greenish-gray Pokémon which uses eight flexible, white-and-red-tipped lobes on both sides of its body to propel itself through the water. Its large head had one pair of large, beady eyes, extending from the side. In the middle of the head is a round black pattern with two red spots. Two large, segmented claws also protrude from its head, serving as either defense against predators or attack against prey. These claws eventually turn to the Fossil that can be used to revive the Anorith. Anorith’s carapace is gray, and Anorith’s tail is small with two gray spikes. Anorith has a pattern on the underside of its body that resembles a screw in shape.
Gender differences
No gender differences.
Special abilities
It swims by undulating the eight wings at its sides. It uses its two well developed hooves to capture prey.
Behavior
Anorith hunt for prey on the sea floor and grip their prey in their sharp claws.
Habitat
The exact habitat of Anorith is unknown, but so far Claw Fossils are only found in the Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova regions. Since it is a Fossil Pokémon that no longer can be found in the wild, they must be resurrected from a Claw Fossil.

Trivia
- Anorith and its evolution, Armaldo, are the only Bug-type Pokémon with genders that are not in the Bug Egg Group.
- Despite being marine Pokémon, Anorith and Armaldo are not part Water-type. They share this trait with their Fossil counterparts Lileep and Cradily.
- All four of them can also walk on water in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, despite not being Water-types.
- Anorith, its evolution Armaldo, Azurill and Castform are the only non-Water-type Pokémon which learn Water Gun by leveling up.
- Of these four, only Anorith and Armaldo cannot become the Water-type. Azurill becomes a Water-type upon evolution, and Castform becomes Water-type in the rain.
Origin
Anorith appears to be closely based on an Anomalocaris. It also appears to be somewhat based on a trilobite. It greatly resembles seamonkeys as well, having similar eyes and feather-like protrusions on its sides.
Name origin
Anorith may be a combination of Anomalocaris and lith (rock or stone). It may also derive from ancestral.
Anopth may be a combination of Anomalocaris and arthropod.
