Aron (Japanese: ココドラ Cokodora) is a dual-type Steel/Rock Pokémon.
It evolves into Lairon starting at level 32, who evolves into Aggron starting at level 42.
Biology
Physiology
Aron has a round body, four stubby legs, and a large, round head. Its body is dark gray and its eyes are a pale blue. Portions of steel armor cover its head, legs, and back, which has a single spike on it. Throughout Aron's body are small openings in the armor, three on its head, one, the largest, being the opening for its eye, and one on its back below its spike. A new suit of armor is made when it evolves. The old, discarded armor is salvaged as metal for making iron products.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
With one all-out charge, this Pokémon can demolish even a heavy dump truck.
Behavior
To make its body, Aron feeds on iron ore that it digs from mountains. Occasionally, hunger may drive it to descend from the mountains to eat bridges and rails, which may produce some same major trouble and cause it to be viewed as a pest.
Habitat
It usually lives deep within mountains.

Trivia
- Aron's name is an anagram of Oran; it is the only Pokémon whose name is an anagram of a Berry.
- Aron does not learn any Rock-type moves by leveling up, though it is part Rock-type. Its entire evolutionary family shares this trait.
- Aron can learn the signature moves of both Cranidos and Shieldon's evolutionary families: Head Smash and Metal Burst, the former by breeding in HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, and the latter by leveling up.
Origin
Aron may have been based on a turtle.
Name origin
Aron's name may be a combination of armor and iron. Armadillo may also be a part of its name.
Kokodora can be broken down into 子 ko, child, and Kodora. Kodora is the Japanese name of Aron's evolution, Lairon, hence child Kodora.
In other languages
- German: Stollunior - From Stahl (Steel), Kolloss (Colossus) and Junior.
- French: Galekid - From gallet (pebble) and the English word kid.
- Korean: 가보리 Gabori
- Chinese (Taiwan): 可可多拉 Kě Kě Duō Lā - Transliteration of its Japanese name.
