- True (but you're more advantaged with the European language*). The localization team shouldn't really copy the plant theme of the Japanese. And if they really have the need to do it, they could have use plant names that incorporate references to their specialty. - They really shouldn’t have used silly botanic names. I’m quite frustrated by the onomastics this Generation. I was expecting higher standards. About Lysander, wow, you’re right! I was blinded by my disappointment and didn’t noticed this reference. I would have preferred some reference to dragons (maybe from Greek mythology), but that’s better than nothing. - Speaking of which, what do you think of Adeku's localized names. Alder has an interesting origin (alder moth, red alder...). But for Goyah, besides the red pith and pulp of the bitter melon, I don't really see any association between them. In fact, I find his name just as bad as Byron's Chinese anime name (東瓜...><). I also find it weird that his name is similar to a painter whose works are quite disturbing. Not sure about the rest, I assume they're all botanic names. Lauro could be from Laurus nobilis (possibly a reference to the laurel wreath). Nardo is most likely from Nardostachys grandiflora (spikenard). Mirto is probably from Myrtus (myrtle). --神智の超龍「對話」
