El drac

Starting a small discussion here since there have been some edits back and forth. I don't think el drac should be included here. I really don't see any of the listed similarities. The form of the body and head isn't really reminiscent. Clodsire has one large blob-like body unlike the statue, which has a defined head and body. As for the color pattern I see no similarities there either. Clodsire is just dark brown on top and lighter underneath with spots for the ribs, pretty similar to how the Iberian ribbed newt is colored. It doesn't have a wide range of colors, or bands in the same way as the statue does. All in all I don't really see any parallels you can draw here that you couldn't also have drawn to Quagsire beyond it being quadrupedal. Petrichor (talk) 22:11, 11 December 2022 (UTC)

It's really weird to me because like. If Game Freak wants to make a El Drac mon they do it. Skeledirge is a good example of a mon being potentially based on one. Clodsire doesn't have any mosaic connections or appearance at all. Saying Clodsire is based on El Drac because both it and El Drac are based on salamanders feels weird when you can just say that Clodsire is based on a salamander. It's like saying Lechonk is based on a piggy bank when you can just say Lechonk is based on a pig. Why the middle man? Anzasquiddles (talk) 01:03, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
Not to mention that if you want to add the El Drac because there has to be an Iberian or Spanish thing in every Gen 9 mon designs (which i don't think there has to be), Clodsire is already based on an Iberian thing. It's the Iberian ribbed newt, a species that lives there and does the rib puncture thing Clodsire does. So idk why this El Drac thing is needed to be brought up at all.
