Although Johto has apparently disbanded since the release of the CD, their songs still occasionally appear in the [[anime|anime series]].
According to Shauna McCoy's personal website, auditions for a "Pokémon Pop Group" took place in June 2000, probably in New York. Once the six members were chosen, the CD was recorded that fall. "Totally Pokemon" was released in January 2001 with little fanfare. No further songs were developed, but marketing efforts combined the "Totally Pokémon" songs with new ones for the [[third movie|Spell of the Unown]] soundtrack, released in April.
