Kiawe's Turtonator: Difference between revisions

In ''[[SM034|A Crowning Moment of Truth!]]'', Kiawe used Turtonator to battle an {{rf|Alolan}} {{p|Marowak}} that had stolen the treasured "Wela Crown", an item said to boost the power of the Pokémon wearing it, from Wela Volcano Park. During the battle, Turtonator was shown being able to use {{m|Dragon Tail}}. However, Turtonator ended up getting defeated by the Bone Keeper Pokémon, with even his Z-Move failing to hit his target. Later, after receiving some encouraging words from Ash, Kiawe agreed to have a practice battle between Pikachu and Turtonator in order to be ready for a rematch with Marowak. During the battle, Turtonator ended up learning a new [[move]], which boosted Kiawe's confidence even further. The next day, Kiawe challenged Marowak again. With his new move, {{m|Shell Smash}}, Turtonator was able to gain enough {{stat|Speed}} to keep up with Marowak, allowing him to defeat his opponent this time around and retrieve the stolen crown. After the battle, {{TP|Kiawe|Marowak}} chose to join Kiawe's [[party|team]].

In ''[[SM043|When Regions Collide!]]'', Turtonator battled [[Brock's Steelix]]. Turtonator started the battle with {{m|Flamethrower}} which Steelix deflected with {{m|Gyro Ball}} to reduce the damage. Turtonator was then squeezed by Steelix's {{m|Bind}}, but freed himself using Shell Trap. Recovering from the attack, Turtonator tried to use Dragon Tail. Before he could hit though, Steelix burrowed underground with {{m|Dig}} and struck Turtonator with the super effective move. When Kiawe decided to use his Z-Move, {{an|Brock}} revealed his [[Key Stone]] and [[Mega Evolution|Mega Evolved]] Steelix into Mega Steelix. Kiawe then had Turtonator attack with Inferno Overdrive, scoring a direct hit. Steelix, however, was able to endure the Z-Move and retaliated with {{m|Stone Edge}}. Turtonator attempted to block the move with Dragon Tail, but was overpowered, knocking him out, making Steelix the winner.

In ''[[SM070|The Young Flame Strikes Back!]]'', Turtonator helped Kiawe against [[Viren]] and [[Viren's henchmen|his henchmen]]. He was knocked out after protecting [[Mimo]] from {{p|Electivire}}'s {{m|Thunder}}.

In ''[[SM090|Securing the Future!]]'', Turtonator joined the rest of Alola in showering {{an|Necrozma}} with light so it could return to its {{DL|List of Pokémon with form differences|Necrozma|normal form}}.

In ''[[SM129|Battle Royal 151!]]'', Turtonator was used in the [[Battle Royal]] preliminary round of the [[Manalo Conference]]. With help from {{an|Lillie}} and [[Snowy]], he was able to defeat a {{p|Salamence}}, and later defeated an {{rf|Alolan}} {{p|Sandslash}}. Eventually, he came across [[Mad Magmar]] and [[Mr. Electric]], and with a combination of Shell Smash and Dragon Tail, he was able to knock out their {{p|Magmortar}} and Electivire, respectively. Turtonator was also the one to finish the Battle Royal, using Inferno Overdrive to defeat a {{p|Metagross}} and allowing Kiawe to progress to the next round.
