Talk:False Swipe (move): Difference between revisions

I understand this is probably more of a site-wide formatting change, but for the Learned By TM List, Iron Valiant and Chien-Pao, only the first three digits of their National Dex Number are displayed in the table. I'm not too familiar with modifying table properties, and more than likely some change will need to be made to the general formatting template, but as of right now this is an issue on this page. I am merely posting this to bring attention to it when a solution is found and if that solution needs application on a case by case basis. == False Swipe vs low health pokemon with Substitute ==
The current wording of the effect is a bit ambiguous.  "False Swipe inflicts damage, but will leave the target with 1 HP if it would otherwise cause it to faint...  If used against a substitute, False Swipe is able to break it and will not leave the substitute with 1 HP."
Does False Swipe deal reduced damage against a Substitute if the target has less health than False Swipe would do?  Such as if False Swipe could do 50%, but the target has 20% left, would False Swipe do 20% (the amount that would KO the target) or enough to break the Substitute (since no hit would actually KO the target due to being intercepted by the Sub)?  I suspect the first, but haven't been able to confirm.
