Liko's Floragato: Difference between revisions

Prior to ''[[Pokémon Horizons: The Series]]'', {{p|Floragato}}, still as a {{p|Sprigatito}} was raised by [[Manya]] at her [[Manya's house|home]] among other {{wp|Felidae|feline}} {{OBP|Pokémon|species}}, as seen in [[HZ040]]. During this time, Sprigatito was usually alone, preferring to stay by herself rather than with playing with others, until she impressed her fellow Pokémon with her skills in using {{m|Leafage}} and became close friends with a group of other Sprigatito. One day, she witnessed her friends in trouble after they were snatched by a {{pkmn2|wild}} {{p|Spidops}}. Although she managed to scare the attacker away, she ended up hurting her friends in the process. From this point onwards, they started avoiding her, afraid of what could happen to them. Thus, Sprigatito felt lonely again, sitting alone on the roof as the others found partners for themselves, and stopping using the [[move]] that once was a source of admiration.

 

Later on, she was among a variety of [[first partner Pokémon]] being introduced to a [[Liko|beginning Trainer]] from [[Indigo Academy]]. As Manya noted at the moment, Sprigatito saw something in her, something that made her think they were made for one another.

Floragato debuted in ''[[HZ001|The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One)]]'' as a Sprigatito, when [[Liko]] received her as her first partner Pokémon by the Indigo Academy. At first, Sprigatito and Liko didn't get along well, with the {{pkmn|category|Grass Cat Pokémon}} scratching her Trainer's hand and running off to mind her own business. In her battle debut against [[Ann]]'s {{p|Oshawott}}, Sprigatito didn't listen to Liko's instructions, which led to her getting hit by a {{m|Water Gun}}.

After being rescued by [[Friede]] in the [[HZ002|next episode]], they were taken aboard his [[Brave Olivine|airship]] with the other members of the [[Rising Volt Tacklers]], but were soon confronted by Amethio and his teammates. Liko was about to give herself up, but after some encouragement from Sprigatito, she stood tall and had her partner unleash a Leafage so strong it broke the forcefield around the Wing Deck, exposing everyone to the unrelenting weather going on. In the process, however, she got blown overboard, which allowed the [[Explorers]] to kidnap her before fleeing.

In ''[[HZ005|Found You, Fuecoco!]]'', Sprigatito battled Onia and her {{p|Golduck}}, and quickly defeated them. However, Sprigatito and Liko were almost ambushed by Amethio and his {{p|Corviknight}}. Fortunately, they were [[HZ006|saved by Liko's pendant]] once again. Sprigatito then teamed up with [[Roy]]'s soon-to-be {{TP|Roy|Fuecoco}} in order to battle against [[Amethio's Ceruledge]]. Despite the numerical advantage, Ceruledge was clearly dominating the battle, which ultimately came to a halt when a [[Black Rayquaza]] emerged from [[Roy]]'s {{DL|Poké Ball|Ancient Poké Ball}} and started attacking, forcing the Explorers to retreat.

Floragato has shown to be brave, headstrong, and somewhat reckless. As a Sprigatito, she was not the affectionate type nor an attention-seeker, both traits common of her {{p|Sprigatito|species}}, to the point of being hostile to humans if they tried to display affection. As the time passed, her initial coldness towards those around her has mellowed out, and she has shown to be relaxed and enjoy sunbathing. She also has shown to not be easily impressed with various things. As revealed in ''[[HZ007|Special Training with Cap!]]'', Floragato enjoys dry-flavored food, with a special liking to matcha, but has been seen liking sweets, such as in ''[[HZ019|The Bittersweet Truth]]''. In addition, she was easily startled by loud noises and shown to be easily provocable, as seen during her first training match against [[Captain Pikachu]], in which his {{m|Double Team}} strategy frustrated the {{pkmn|category|Grass Cat Pokémon}}. Despite being a {{type|Grass}} {{OBP|Pokémon|species}}, she doesn't like water.

Initially, Sprigatito did not seem interested in [[Liko]] at all, preferring to sit out by herself on the roof instead of hanging out with her. This may stem from her past, revealed in [[HZ040]], possibly as a way to prevent other from getting hurt by her. However, after witnessing her Trainer attempt to understand her habits, Sprigatito started to care about Liko and came to appreciate her affection, often sitting on her shoulder or head, or being held in her arms. Also, upon witnessing the lengths her Trainer was willing to go in order to protect her, such as when they were [[HZ002|falling from a height at the Indigo Academy]] or when [[HZ003|Liko rescued her from the Explorers]], Sprigatito became very loyal to Liko. Although her bond with Liko is pretty strong, Sprigatito at times gets upset with her Trainer, especially if she does something she doesn't like or approve of, but does understand her well-meaning intentions to help their friends.

Ever since the events of ''[[HZ002|The Pendant That Starts It All (Part Two)]]'', Sprigatito mellowed out and has shown to no longer be hostile towards others, as she became friendly with both people and Pokémon. However, despite her improvement in interacting with people and Pokémon, Sprigatito still shows her hostile side at times, as she tried to scratch {{OBP|Diana|Horizons}}, even though she is Liko's grandmother, when she first met her. Sprigatito is also free-spirited as she enjoys playing and running around. Much like her Trainer, Sprigatito can be cautious of trusting others, as she quickly realized that [[Amethio]] had dark motives and hissed at him during the first time they met. Sprigatito also can easily make friends, being able to quickly befriend [[Roy's Fuecoco]] and [[Dot's Quaxly]] after meeting them. In addition, Sprigatito has shown to get jealous of other Pokémon taking or winning Liko's affection and getting along with her, as seen with {{OBP|Alex|Horizons}}'s {{p|Fidough}} in ''[[HZ009|Welcome to Paldea!]]'' and {{an|Terapagos}} in ''[[HZ026|Terapagos's Adventure!]]''. However, Sprigatito quickly let go of her envy after she befriended them.

Although, when Liko met a wild {{TP|Liko|Hatenna}} and took care of her in ''[[HZ021|The Lonely Hatenna]]'', she didn't show any sign of jealousy towards her, as she helped her Trainer look after the Calm Pokémon, which led them to form a close friendship and become teammates when her Trainer {{pkmn2|caught}} her, after encouraging her to stay with them. Ever since Hatenna joined the group, Sprigatito became protective of her, as she came to see her as her little sister and would get concerned when she would wander off on her own, as shown in ''[[HZ027|As Long as I'm with My Friends]]'', when she ran away from [[Dot]]'s strong emotions, but was relieved that she was safe when the group found her.

Sprigatito was capable of releasing a sweet scent from her paws that relaxed those who smell it. As shown in her battle against [[Zirc]]'s {{p|Rhydon}}, it is strong enough to put a Pokémon to sleep in the middle of a battle. This was shown again when Sprigatito used her sweet scent to calm a {{rf|Galarian}} {{p|Moltres}} down, although she had help from [[Friede]] and Roy's Pokémon. Sunbathing will strengthen the power of her sweet scent. She has also been shown using {{m|Leafage}} to blind opponents on multiple occasions as a way to circumvent her lack of raw strength. Sprigatito also has come to enjoy battling and developed a desire to become stronger. Although, Sprigatito was afraid of her own strength, as she fears causing serious harm to her friends, and was insecure with herself. However, through Liko's support and encouragement, Sprigatito let go of her fear and became more confident in herself.
