This ability is demonstrated in [[Ash's Riolu]], who, after hatching, ran away from Ash and Goh's room in search of the Aura that it had sensed prior to hatching. When Ash and Pikachu found Riolu battling an {{p|Onix}}, they prepared to help Riolu fight it off.
