I just tried filling my PC Boxes before Solgaleo in Sun. If you try to throw a ball, the game just does the standard "the PC is full!" message as it would if you tried to catch a regular Pokémon with a full PC. This forces you into KOing it, but, as usual, it'll still be standing there afterwards . : And now I just tried the Shedinja evolution with full boxes during the Southern Island event in ORAS. Short answer: it's not possible to do. Steven will try to prevent it by insisting on having space in your PC specifically; having a full PC will prevent him from taking you to Southern Island, even if you still have space in your party (which is necessary for Shedinja).
