In [[Paldea]], a younger Friede is fishing with Ludlow on his boat, the Asagi. During their time together, Ludlow points out that youth should not be spend waiting for prey to bite. After Friede catches Slowbro, Friede acknowledges that he has nothing, unlike Ludlow, who throws an Arrokuda back into the water and tells Friede that he has his own wings. Friede gets a call from [[Lucca]], his old teacher, meeting up with her at the [[Medali Gym]]. Lucca tells Friede that she got married and moved from Kanto to Paldea, planning to back to school when [[Liko|her daughter]]'s old enough. Lucca then asks why Friede quit his job, to which Friede replies that being cooped up in a lab didn't suit him. As they talk some more, Lucca wants Friede to meet someone. | |||

He and Pikachu race up the vortex until reaching the top and gazing at the sunset. Friede realizes that Pikachu wanted to see this horizon as the tow exchange a triumphant thumbs up. However, Pikachu, having forgotten to hover with its tail, enters a freefall. Luckily, Friede catches it just in time. Everyone applauds Friede's origin story, and Liko is shocked to hear that Friede has history with her mother, to Friede's dismay, who instead wanted her praise. Friede tells Liko that if not for Lucca, he would have never met Cap. As night falls, Liko is joined by Roy and Dot on the deck. The video they made is finished, but Liko thinks they shouldn't release it, knowing now why she's here. Liko's mother brought Cap and Friede together, which brought the Rising Volt Tacklers together, which led to her meeting them and making so many new friends. Liko then plans on telling Lucca about Sprigatito when they meet again. The Brave Asagi then closes in on the Galar Region. | |||
