Paradox Duo is a fan term for the Legendary duo of Paldea that consists of the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon. Both are very unique [Paradox Pokémon that are different from the rest. They are the ancient and future relatives on the present day Cyclizar. Koraidon, the mascot of Pokémon Scarlet represents the ancient past. Miraidon, the mascot of Pokémon Violet represents the future.

History
History
Koraidon and Miraidon first appeared in Area Zero after Professor Sada or Turo created a time machine using Terastal energy in Area Zero in order to bring Pokémon from the ancient past/distant future into the present day world, in hopes that Pokémon from different time periods that the Professors dreamed of knowing about would be able to live in harmony with the Pokémon of the present world. The first Pokémon to have successfully been sent into the present day world from this machine was a Koraidon/Miraidon, who were stated to be an ancient/future form of the present day Pokémon Cyclizar. This first Koraidon/Miraidon was docile and friendly, and after being documented by Sada/Turo, it would also occassionally live at the laboratory they lived in on Poco Path along with the Professor's son, Arven. However, the Koraidon/Miraidon was eventually returned to Area Zero as its presence in the rest of Paldea would garner attention.
The duo is introduced in Generation IX. Both were brought into the future by either Professor Sada/Professor Turo through a time machine.

Eventually, Sada/Turo succeeded in bringing forth a second Koraidon/Miraidon from the time machine, however, this individual was significantly more aggressive, violent, and territorial than the first individual. This Koraidon/Miraidon attacked the first Koraidon/Miraidon, and in a territorial dispute, Sada/Turo attempted to protect the first Koraidon/Miraidon, taking a mortal blow in doing so and ultimately passing away from the injuries. The first Koraidon/Miraidon was eventually defeated and weakened, and in its fear, eventually escaped Area Zero and wound up stranded near the Inlet Grotto, losing all of its powers in doing so.
Koraidon
This stranded Koraidon/Miraidon was eventually discovered by the player, and was fed a homemade sandwich which allowed it to regain its energy. The two formed a close bond, and eventually after the player meets Arven, the latter entrusts Koraidon/Miraidon's Poké Ball to the player, relinquishing ownership of it to the player. The player, while unable to use the Koraidon/Miraidon in battle due to its weakened state, relies on it as a partner to travel across Paldea during their journey. During the Path of Legends storyline, Koraidon/Miraidon repeatedly asks the player to feed it Arven's sandwiches made by the Herba Mystica, and in doing so, gradually regains most of its powers, barring its ability to battle.
Miraidon
In the final story arc, The Way Home, once the player, Arven, Nemona, and Penny enter Area Zero on Sada/Turo's request, the Koraidon/Miraidon uses its gliding powers to glide the four into Area Zero successfully, however, before doing so, it shows evident fear of entering Area Zero due to the trauma it sustained from its confrontation with the more aggressive Koraidon/Miraidon. Upon landing, it retreats into its Poké Ball and refuses to come out during the group's venture into Area Zero. After a brief confrontation with the more aggressive Koraidon/Miraidon, and after the player defeats the AI Sada/Turo in a battle on the latter's request, the Paradise Protection Protocol activates, summoning the more aggressive Koraidon/Miraidon into battle. The system shuts down all Poké Balls that do not belong to Sada/Turo, however, as the player's Koraidon/Miraidon's Poké Ball is also associated with the Professor's ID, they manage to call upon it as a last resort. With the support of the player and their friends, the Koraidon/Miraidon regains its combat powers and finally musters the courage to stand up against and fight the Koraidon/Miraidon that once overpowered it, ultimately emerging victorious and shutting down the Paradise Protection Protocol.

After the main storyline is complete, the more aggressive Koraidon/Miraidon can be caught in Area Zero.
