** He is also the first to specialize in a different type between different positions.

** Him specializing in both {{t|Normal}}- and {{t|Flying}} types is likely a reference to how the Normal/Flying type combination is the most abundant type combination amongst dual-type Pokémon.

* Larry's specialization in Flying types is hinted at by the cloud patterns on his tie and his ace Pokémon as a Gym Leader being a Flying type.

* Larry is the only Paldean Gym Leader to [[Terastal phenomenon|Terastallize]] a Pokémon of his type specialization.
