When they returned for the card, Shielbert and Sordward's faces were uncovered by Casey and her friends, but the brothers refused to divulge their identities. Angered, Casey attempted to retrieve her her stolen Pokémon, only to pass out.

The brothers attacked Henry and Casey, but were stopped by Piers's {{p|Obstagoon}}. Before Piers could finish them off, [[Marnie]] arrived and told him to avoid going too far, allowing the brothers to flee.

Later, after Rose released {{p|Eternatus}} to restart the [[Darkest Day]], Shielbert and Sordward made a sham news broadcast where they announced their intention on using the Rusted Shield and Sword to defeat Eternatus and solve the crisis.
