:: Hang on, if I'm reading the glossary more carefully and it seems that EVs are officially "base points" and the additional stat points you get from EVs are "base stats". ie at level 100 4 base points = 1 base stat. That's different to how I initially read it but that information should still be reflected here and on the EV page and currently it's not (the effort value page does interchange "effort points" with "EVs" a lot - is that some sort of compromise?). It's quite confusing given that they changed (or clarified?) what "base stat" means in gen 8, and even more confusing because it's out of kilter with the fan terminology.[[User:Jmvb|JMVB - very sporadic editor since 2008]] ([[User talk:Jmvb|talk]]) 00:18, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

== title of the page ==
The title of this page incorrectly states that base stats are species strengths. The title should thus be changed to species strengths. The description of the page matches the description of the species strength entry in the Pokémon glossary on the official website; however, the title is wrong. This must be corrected. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia and thus should supply accurate information, making errors like this unacceptable and confusing. If you confused Bulbapedia for an amateur guide on Pokémon breeding then you are an idiot. Get out of here and let serious people do the work.
