Obstacles during the course include {{p|Boldore}}, {{p|Sandygast}}, and {{p|Castform}}. These Pokémon use obstructing moves to make it harder for the participants and their Charjabug.
The support runner of the team is not allowed to help the Charjabug by pushing the car, as doing so will result in disqualification. Using moves to impede other Pokémon also results in a disqualification. However, using moves such as {{m|String Shot}} on the Charjabug Racer's tires to overcome slippery terrain is allowed.
