:I understand what you're saying, but please try to understand that (a) Google Translate is not reliable; we need an actual fluent Japanese speaker to confirm any Japanese-language sources we wish to use; and (b) wikis are not reliable because anyone can edit them. For all we know, perhaps one person somewhere made up this info on a Japanese wiki page, falsely cited it to the guidebook, and lots of other Japanese wiki pages may have copied that false info and citation without consulting the guidebook for themselves. ::I've looked around, and I'm pretty sure his favorite really is Gengar, as there were several (independent) articles that, quoting several different Japanese magazine articles or Sugimori interviews (none of which seem to be accessible online). In one of the instances, I could actually track down their claims to a Bulbagarden forums thread (which apparently went lost, but is mentioned/quoted [http://forums.bulbagarden.net/index.php?threads/now-that-the-games-are-closer-thoughts-on-reverting-to-simplicity.214773/#post-5788666 here] and [http://forums.bulbagarden.net/index.php?threads/generation-vi-the-future.169739/page-258#post-5720059 here]), which purportedly contains a translation of one magazine article (if someone can access it and/or somehow remove the "citation needed" here somehow, that'd be cool). Interestingly, only the English-language report talks about Venusaur, but it's more or less exactly that "many lines, hard to draw" thing that sits unsourced at the Japanese Wikipedia and Niconico pedia (see [[Talk:Venusaur (Pokémon)#Ken Sugimori and Venusaur]]). Without access to the original source, it might have been a mistranslation that spread (even back to Japan), or maybe he really said he dislikes it (or doesn't like to draw it, or something).
