I expected that I needed to grind a ton to defeat him, as most of my Pokémon were around level 21 and his Raichu was 28, but I decided to feel things out to see what level I'd need to be. I got through the puzzle and challenged Surge with my level 22 Nidoqueen, and his strategy was awful: keep spamming Growl, every so often using Thunderbolt, Mega Kick, or an X Speed. The Mega Kick was the one thing I needed to worry about, but I had 10 Super Potions and he only used it once. Slowly I whittled down Raichu's HP and got the Thunder Badge. Shortly after, I got a bike and went to Diglett Cave to get Flash, and ran into a level 29 Dugtrio! I tried to catch it, but I ended up running out of Pokéballs and it knocked out almost my whole team. | |||
