Greninja is a large, bipedal, frog-like Pokémon. Its body and legs are dark blue, with single large white bubbles on its legs and arms and white spots over its eyes. On the sides of each of its upper thighs is a light blue, four-pointed star, which resembles a shuriken. Its back feet have two toes, while its front feet have three toes. Its feet are webbed, and it has a yellow chest and a yellow-and-blue face. It has eyes with white sclera, red irises, and white pupils. A large, projecting dark blue stripe runs down the middle of its head, with projecting light blue stripes in between its large, yellow ears. Its mouth is hidden behind a large, pink tongue that wraps around Greninja's neck and extends outward behind its head.

When it becomes Ash-Greninja, Its body and legs changes to light Blue, The chest changes to blue completely, save for a small part of the chest colored tan, in the shape of its foot. It gains a blue shrunken with streaks of white on its backs. The outer yellow part of ears, along with blue eyelid changes to the color black, with the lower part of ear changing to resembling [[Ash Ketchum]]'s hair, with red lighting connected to it on both sides. The part blue stripe connect to the ears extends upwards. The blue stripe on it ahead changes to the color red and connects to Greninja's eyes.
Ash-Greninja has powered up thanks to the strength of its bonds with Ash. This is the form Greninja takes when it has gained new power due to the miraculous occurrence known as the bond phenomenon. This can be brought on by the bonds between people and Pokémon. It seems that it has only been known to have occurred once—several hundred years ago. Ash-Greninja's leg strength has been enhanced compared to an ordinary Greninja, making it difficult to see because of the speed at which it can move. It takes its enemies out in a flash! It becomes able to make giant Water Shurikens on its back, and it can throw them in rapid succession.<ref>http://www.pokemon-sunmoon.com/en-ca/pokemon/ash-greninja/</ref>
