Having Ash be the main person who is trying to help Goomy only for it to be caught by someone else makes no logical sense, and would be the biggest insult to Ash's character. Plus Goomy is confirmed to fully evolve. Ash with a Goodra makes far more sense than any other character. Why is there doubt here? No one else makes any remote sense, logically speaking based on all the evidence. At best, AT best, NO ONE catches it.
