A '''Marchioness''' (Japanese: '''マーショネス''' ''Marchioness'') is a type of [[Pokémon Trainer]] that debuted in the [[Battle Chateau]] of the [[Generation VI]] games [[Pokémon X and Y]]. The female [[player character]] becomes a Marchioness after defeating enough Trainers in the Battle Chateau and, along with its male counterpart class {{tc|Marquis}}, is the next noble rank held by both her and trainers of the Battle Chateau after {{tc|Countess}}.

Opponent Marchionesses all maintain parties of two Pokémon. Marchionesses that are not also [[Gym Leader]]s have Pokémon at level 35 if no Writ of Challenge is issued. Marchionesses that are also Gym Leaders will have Pokémon at level 40 if no Writ of Challenge is issued, unless the player has advanced to the rank of {{tc|Duke}} or {{tc|Duchess}} or has defeated the {{tc|Champion}}, in which case their Pokémon will be at level 50.
