* A male {{tc|Rising Star}} in the [[gate]] from [[Snowbelle City]] claims that his {{OBP|Pokémon|species}}'s (explicitly stated to be a {{p|Charmander}} in the Japanese version) [[nickname]] is "Sepultura" (Japanese: '''セパルトラ''') in the English and Japanese versions, which is a reference to the Japanese back cover of {{game|Red and Green|s}}, which shows a Charmander nicknamed that in a screenshot. This is changed to [[Ash Ketchum]] in the Spanish version, [[Misty]] in the German version, and "{{wp|Jabberwocky|Wockerjab}}" in the French version. In the Italian version, he instead states that "A battle a day keeps the doctor away!" (Italian: ''Una lotta al giorno toglie il medico di torno!''), a pun on the expression "''An apple a day keeps the doctor away!''".
