Scolipede (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Scolipede's species shows that it was inspired by the {{wp|centipede}}, most likely the ''{{wp|Scolopendra gigantea}}''. It could be based on ''{{wp|Arthropleura}}'', a prehistoric relative of centipedes that grew to two and a half metres. Scolipede also has a little in common with {{wp|millipede}}s, and may also draw inspiration from a red ''{{wp|Archispirostreptus gigas}}'', a species of millipede often kept as a pet. Its appearance may also draw reference to ''{{wp|scoliosis}}'', a spinal condition in which the backbone curves abnormally. This may also draw reference to its major increase in height between its evolutionary forms. Scolipede's posture, and the fact that it stands on four 'main' legs, could be an indication that it draws some inspiration from {{wp|centaur}}s.
