'''Diamond''' (Japanese: '''ダイヤモンド''' ''Diamond'') is a character from {{OBP|Pocket Monsters DP|Kosaku Anakubo}} who first appeared in ''[[PMDP10|A Fresh Rival Appears!?]]''. Diamond is based on {{ga|Lucas}} from the {{v|Diamond and Pearl|s}} games and is one of {{OBP|Red|Pocket Monsters}}'s rivals.

Diamond is considered to be well known around Sinnoh as a bunch of {{tc|Cameraman|Cameramen}} took pictures of him and did interviews as well.

 

A bunch of {{tc|Cameraman|Cameramen}} are speeding along and easily zoom past Red and his Pokémon. They start taking pictures and doing interviews with a Trainer named Diamond. Red and his Pokémon notice that many copies of newsprint containing Diamond and his Pokémon were published. They leave afterwards and {{TP|Red|Clefairy}}, hiding behind a wall, wants to surprise him. Clefairy runs to Diamond with Red chasing after the {{type|Normal}} but at the last minute stops and holds out a piece of paper, asking Diamond for an autograph.

 

Diamond notices Red and they introduce themselves to each other. After giving each other a hand shake, Red noticed that his hand was dirty and then Diamond shyly reacts to it. Diamond then tries pumping up Red and his Pokémon for a battle. During the battle, Diamond's {{p|Mime Jr.}} and {{p|Weavile}} drew to {{OBP|Red's Pikachu|Pocket Monsters}} and {{TP|Red|Tyrogue}}, and his {{p|Munchlax}} lost to Red's Clefairy.

 

Following the battle, Diamond and Red went after Munchlax and Clefairy when they went running off in order to compete with each other. After they found their Pokémon, they were furious to see that they were eating.
