:::::That's not contradictory, nor especially significant. Many trainers use accessories to tell which Pokémon belongs to them. Like I already said though, the reason Butterfree and Onix get sprites is because they're actually ''different'' than an average member of their species, physically speaking. Throwing a bow, or scarf, or sunglasses on only shows the personality or the Pokémon or their trainer, not a physical condition/trait that absolutely defines them from everything else.
