This card was given to participants of the first Tropical Mega Battle, held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu, Hawaii between August 24-27, 1999. In Japan, it was later reprinted and available as an insert with Volume 3 of Pokémon Card Trainers magazine, released in October 1999.
