Hi. I'm not agree about what you said. In ep005, when ash battle onix, Ash tried to recall him and the red light came out of the pokeball signifying, that Ash has already placed Pikahu in a Poké ball and certainly it was in ep001 beetween the part when Ash and Professor Oak are electrified and when we see them go out of the Laboratory.
