(Japanese: マサヤ Masaya) is a character of the day who appeared in The Sinnoh Iceberg Race!. His hometown is Snowpoint City.
Masaya and his Empoleon competed in the annual Pokémon Iceberg Race. In a previous competition, he and Empoleon barely lost to Lauren and her Piplup, winning second place as a result. One year later, Masaya and Empoleon competed in the race again, with Lauren, Ash, and Goh also competing. Empoleon managed to take the lead alongside Lauren's Piplup, but Team Rocket showed up and caught most of the competing Pokémon in a net. Although the Pokémon were ultimately freed, this disturbance caused the race to be cancelled, with no winner being declared. After this, Masaya joined Lauren in waving Ash and Goh goodbye as they returned to Kanto.
