Every Pokémon species has a specific weight that is displayed in the Pokédex for that species. Some species have different weights in different forms.

The [[Pokédex]] lists a weight for each Pokémon species. In English, weight is displayed in {{wp|Pound (mass)|pounds}} (to one decimal place); in all other languages, it is displayed in {{wp|kilogram}}s (to one decimal place). All game mechanics based on weight use kilograms for their calculations.

===Weight-modifying effects===
From [[Generation V]] onward, there are several effects that can modify a Pokémon's weight in battle.
* A Pokémon with the [[Ability]] {{a|Heavy Metal}} or {{a|Light Metal}} functions as twice or half its normal weight, respectively.
* A Pokémon holding a [[Float Stone]] functions as if it weighed half the weight listed in the Pokédex.
* A Pokémon that uses {{m|Autotomize}} has its base weight decreased by 100&nbsp;kg (220&nbsp;lbs.) each time it uses the move. This weight loss applies before other weight-modifying effects.
 
A Pokémon's weight cannot drop below 0.1&nbsp;kg<!-- and cannot exceed 999.9&nbsp;kg-->.
 
From [[Generation VI]] onward, if a Pokémon changes [[List of Pokémon with form differences|form]], any weight modifications due to Autotomize are lost.
